On Death and Dying - 5 years later
Death and dying has been so strongly a part of my life for the past 18 months that every quiet moment my thoughts and feelings about the subject bubble up and I find myself having one sided sermons about the issue.
Knitting Socks & Dying Yarn
For those of you lucky shoppers who visited the Some Art Fabric Booth this fall you know --we added yarn. Right now there is a great selection of natural yarns ready to be dyed or used in their pure state and a limited selection of yarns dyed by ME!!!
I am sorry to say that none of this is reflected in the online store cause I have been sleeping in hotels for 8 of the last 12 weeks. We are at our final show -- Overland Park Kansas -- we build today, so you can visit us tomorrow.

Second Fall Show 2013
Okay, it is not really fall, yet we are at our second show of the "fall" season. This weekend we are in Pittsburgh at the Monroeville Convention Center, with the Original Sewing Expo.
Our booth is front and center (311) and we have added some new items! We now carry a beautiful selection of wool, silk, alpaca and cashmere blended yarns, knitting needles and crochet hooks. Last week we got in a huge shipment of some of the newest Alexander Henry prints and of course our beautiful Kokka fabrics with lots of tone on tones to match all the one hit wonders.

Such wonderful new yarn had to be put out front & center. |
Crochet a Rug
This is a resource page for all of my wonderful students. Making rugs using scrap fabric is a fairly time honored frugal activity. I don't want to reinvent the wheel so ... here are some links to help you remember what you learned in class.

Here we go...
Crochet A Rug
Here is a wonderful way to use up fabric you loved (past tense) and
bought lots of. See how to make hundreds of yards of ‘yarn’ from the
fabric sitting in your stash! For class, however, Colleen does all the
work, providing pre-ripped fabric yarn, instructions and a crochet hook.
You do NOT need to know how to crochet to attend and complete your rug
successfully.
