Do You Sew?

I bet you are wondering just that. Where are the sewing projects, ideas etc! Well I have finally finished a small sewing project for next weekend. I wanted to have a super simple beginner project to demo at Lakewood, so I went searching for a free bib pattern. I found a great one with a down loadable PDF at Chickpea Studio. I made my bib reversible with 2 pieces of Amy Schimler fabric. It might be more absorbant with a plain flannel on the back but I love the fabric too much to use plain. The bib is a cute size for an infant up to one year, more of a drool bib.

Chickpea also has a burp cloth tutorial that I peeked at but I decided to make mine a bit easier. I just cut down the rest of my fat quarter (after making the bib) into a rectangle then cut a piece of matching towel (one is a new diaper). Sew right sides together, turn and top stitch. This makes a cute gift that I managed to eek out in less than an hour.

Macro Pencil Shavings

More Macro

Arabella and one of the many Azalea Blooms she has harvested.

This is a bright pink perennial flower. I harvested the seeds from a neighbor.

Julia made this lovely kabob. I immediately sent her to wash her hands while I snapped a shot and throw it over the fence.

Macro Buttons

One of my many containers of stuff. Vintage Red Buttons and push pins?

Macro Photography Challenge

The girls made breakfast on Sunday. I snapped a close up of my oatmeal bowl.

Macro Challenge

So I was hopping around some of fav blogs and I stumbled upon a blogger who was participating in a 30 day challenge to use the tulip on their camera (macro setting). I signed myself up and got started. I had a great pic from April 1 ( so I was participating and did not know it) and a few to make up the slack from today. How many crafts can you keep in the air at one time?

Earth Day - Recycled Paper

Watcha doin' for Earth Day?

I will be making paper, lots of it hopefully. I am no expert but my paper has gone from UGG!! to OHH! My mom even wants a chance to play. I am on my fourth batch and they keep getting better. The green and the pink papers are from the last 2 batches. I don't want to put on my super cool tee shirt yet but I am really proud of this last batch of green.

Last year we purchased an Accu Cut and I love it for upcycling, cutting fabric patches and now for making cards.

These are proto types of upcoming products. The Thank You cards will be included in your orders and the Circle Cut Card will be available when I get a few more made (and the envelopes arrive).

Start thinking now about how you want to spend your Earth Day. Our tradition is to plant a tree and eat cake (Happy Birthday Bryan).
